Default Revert from 260.19 to 256.35

I recently did a clean install of XBMCLive (on an Acer Revo) which installs Ubuntu 10.04. Because of an HDMI audio issue with the bundled driver and my Denon receiver, I updated the driver using the following steps:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nvidia-current

This installs 260.19.29-0ubuntu1~xup~lucid4 which fixes my audio problem, but unfortunately has a video quality issue. The color is not as bright as normal and the picture is not as sharp, almost as though it was not a 1080p signal. This only happens when running through my receiver and not when going directly to the TV.

I had similar audio problems with an earlier version of XBMCLive and fixed them using the same steps listed above to update to nvidia-current which at the time was 256.35-0ubuntu0sarvatt~lucid. As this older version of the driver worked perfectly for me, I would like to know if there is a way to download and install it again? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You get it from the FTP site, ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Li...x86-256.35.run

Uninstall all nvidia related packages from your package manager. Then logout of your window manager, go to a new TTY Ctrl-Atl-F1, stop gdm sudo service gdm stop, then make the nvidia package executable chmod +x and execute it as root then reboot.
