One other thing - this game is hard. I'm playing on normal and about 2 hours into it I've been obliterated many times. The first game is absolutely slow and boring compared to this. |

Oh yeah.
I think I'm most of the way through chapter 3 atm. The environment is so much more filled out here I always feel like I'm missing something, although the game is still very linear. Still a lot of corridor crawling, but the sense of being in a much, much larger place is well done. And having played the first several times I've still had several 's already in this one. ![]() |

Im loving the game and digging the improved controls. Its so much more fun. First 10 minutes was insane, wont spoil any of it though.
Scare wise i think the first one had more scares and was more intense. I keep finding myself running all over the place in dead space 2, in the first game the corridors always kept me on the edge of my seat, preparing for anything to appear. Doesnt mean DS2 is bad though, i think its more fun than the first. I cant wait for my advance suit! Playing on survivalist difficulty, which is comparable to the hard difficulty in DS1. Inventory management is such an arse! But thats what makes survival horror so thrilling. And i think its a tad harder than DS1 because enemies deal more damage, but then again, so do yours :P The stasis is almost ineffective unless you upgrade it though. yes there is, just like the first game. You cant select how much AA you want, its just an option that enables/disables AA.

Real AA works in DS1 with this key: 0x004030C0 and one of the newest drivers. The fake ingame AA setting needs to be disabled. I tried it out the other day and it works and looks great.
Since DS2 is apparently using the same engine, the same approach should work as well.

I was never much of a fan of the first one due to the lack luster refinement of the PC version, but you guys have me seriously wanting to buy this game. I just don't have any money to do it right now.
