Default 6600 GT duel view causes gnome crash

I have installed Mint 10 and did the driver thing through Mint. everything worked well until I tried to set up the duel view.

now Mint strats up in the terminal, and the Gui does not load at all. as far as I can tell the error comes down to not being able to detect screens?????

I am new to linux, so I dont know how to remove the "restricted driver" or roll back to before the second screen was activated. As i said, I am new to linux and only got the terminal to work on.

I am using a nVidia 6600Gt

any advice?
