Actually read the newer Biostar boards are solid. I've got an MSI P67A-GD55(B3) in bound among some other goodies. Really wanted the Asrock P67 Extreme4(B3) but have no patience

Nothing is worse than Gigabyte right now on P67 systems. I'd take a Biostar any day of the week over this piece of junk UD4.
I've been running a couple weeks rock solid stable, OCCT, IBT, Prime95, you name it and I installed new Nvidia drivers...boot loop. Had to reset cmos, unplug the computer for 15 minutes before I could even get back into bios. Soon as I get back into the Bios i reset everything to stock, boot, reboot, put everything back to where it was when it screwed up, boot again, and everything is perfect again. I've rebooted a dozen times since...no issue. I'd say it was a bad board, but these issues are extremely common with the Gigabyte P67's. I only wish they would give me a refund instead of offering to swap it out. I can't express the frustration I've had with this motherboard. It's easily the worst board I've ever owned, which is pretty impressive because when I was in college and broke I owned some bottom of the barrel Amd ECS boards. |

It's wise to get the B3. Just incase the issue becomes something more than just SATA port screw ups in the future. Wouldn't put it past GB, Asus etc to sneak a few more improvements in under the radar that they missed the first time around.

I am quiet happy with my current Asus Pro board. plus i only use 4 sata3 ports and the sata2 is just for my dvd drive which i barely use anyway.
I am planning to switch my HDD's later this year, probably swap out 2 of my 1TB with 2TB, and get a SSD for my fourth. |

Never had a problem with my B2, I think this recall has been mostly just speculation. You couldn't pry my 2600k from me. ...and I'm using 4 of the "defective ports". 5% possibility over 3 years. I haven't owned any motherboard for 3 years...
I love the idiots that RMA'd their boards and are sitting there with a CPU in one hand and their junk in the other. Newegg emailed the other day, board swaps are coming. There was no reason to be without and RMA your board back before. Some people are just so stupid. |
