Less upgrading!
I know, I don't have unlimited funds.

Consoles will always outsell PC's, consoles are cheap, it's easy to trade in games, etc.

You can't really do that on a PC. Almost everyone now has some kind of LCD with at least 720p, perfect for a console.

No what is holding back PC Gaming is sales... and a developer actually turning a good profit. They need to do more then break even to continue to operate and by limiting themselves to a single platform (especially one with the smaller software sales) wont help.

No not really... your numbers help prove my point. I'm sure that Black Ops would have been a failure if it was PC only... I'm sure they spent over 100 million on advertisement alone. I'm sure probably all those games were not commercial success (as in doubling their budgets).

Also you have no way to validate those numbers... they were pulled from a 3rd party, not divulged by Valve at all (they never talk sales figures) and I doubt that its accurate since most likely they counted users and multiplied that by MSRP which can be misleading since a lot of games were steamware games meaning you could have bought them else where and registered it to steam (I did with Civ5, payed half price from D2D).

PS: To prove my point, Just look to the developers/publishers are going to. If PC was so profitable then they wouldn't be migrating to consoles.

Yeah those rednecks need to play their nascar games... pcs are too complicated for them. In the last 10 years consoles have evolved gaming more then PCs.

How much of the 100 million was spent on PC advertising? Let me answer that for you less than a million.

I'm sure they advertised COD:BO quite a bit, but no where near $100 million. That would be insane for anything outside of maybe Toyota, and even then, that's not worth the money.

I would wager about $1-5 million for advertising campaigns. Other than that, the name of the game sold itself.

Really because I didn't see a single second of PC footage before launch. Not one launch event for PC either.

I think you need to be banned.

Nothing personal but- everytime you post I start craving bacon.

Either banned or for every post you provide each of us with a whole plate of bacon.

Yes. This sounds perfectly fair.

My point was it's easier to take the exact same console version, and just port it to PC. As opposed to actually putting time (e.g. different texture sets) into each platform.

Look at Black Ops. That's all they did and that's the reason it was a buggy POS when it launched. They literally put zero effort into the PC version.

Yeah but before Xbox 360 and PS3, Game console cycle was 4-5 years.. Now it's 10 years because they can add stuff to them and people will buy (Kinect)..

Kinect even dumb game down to the point that you can even do nothing and win LOL! (check on youtube, some games are on rail)...
