Bump. Would really like to try the new driver... or at least get this fixed so graphical apps work again...

It turns out they packaged the 270.29 driver for Ubuntu at the X-swat ppa. So I gave it a try and it seems to be alot more stable than the other recent beta's, although it has gave me one minor slowdown for about ten seconds in Call of Duty, which became responsive after a short wait. (Glad I wasnt playing online.) Will continue to test this new driver hopefully it fixes my freezing issue with 3d games.
