Default Sound Card and Headset

Ok I decided I've had enough of crappy sound and need some advice on purchasing a sound card and headset. This will mainly be used for gaming with listening to music here and there. I do not need nor plan to spend a lot of money. Just would like something that would work well for gaming and ventrilo. Only thing I've looked at is the Asus Xonar which was about $50-60 I believe.

I just took my PCIe Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro out and use the sound on my GTX 460 ,I have it running though my AV reciever and it sounds just as good to me and now I don't have to worry about a sound card no more.I have heard good things about the ASUS Xonar DX 7.1 Channels PCI Express ,but I never had any pronlems with my PCIe Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro .
