Greetings!
I'm running Ubuntu Maverick (10.10) in x86_64 mode. I'm running kernel.org 2.6.37 to fix an SD card reader bug for this laptop. The Nvidia driver is 260.19.36. The GPU hardware is an NVS-3100M. The laptop is a Dell Latitude E6510 with quad core I7-740QM. The nvidia-bug-report.log.gz is attached. The problem: When running on just the laptop panel, everything works fine. However, when running on the displayport connector using a Dell U3011 in 2560x1600 mode, if I run xlsfonts in a terminal window then X crashes and restarts. It would appear that any application that asks for the fonts database dies in a similar manner. NX client is another application that dies in this mode as does the Linux version of Slickedit. This only happens with the displayport connector (unfortunately, displayport is the only way to get to the full resolution of my monitor). I've googled and searched the forums and I can't find any reference to this type of behavior. Any clues would be appreciated as I would like to run a couple of applications that ask for the available fonts. TIA, Mike Last edited by taichichuan; 02-16-11 at 07:31 AM. Reason: Forgot the GPU |
