Default X fails after Quadro NVS 295 driver update in Fedora 11 x86_64

After updating the Nvidia Quadro NVS 295 driver on my Dell Precision T7500 workstation, attempting to 'startx' from the command line results in a blank screen.

The driver in question is NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-260.19.36.run

The /etc/inittab was changed prior to update to run level 3.
The Fedora Linux Build OS is: Linux 2.6.18-164.e15 x86_64 (Fedora 11)
Current OS: Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.29.4-167.fc11.x86_64

Please find attached the nvidia-installer.log and the nvidia-bug-report.log.gz. Please note that nvidia-bug-report.sh was run from level 3. I have no way to log in remotely due to the university firewall. I've also attached Xorg.3.log, Xorg.4.log and Xorg.5.log if that is helpful.

I look forward to a favorable resolution!

Also, some other details that may be of interest:
-When prompted during driver install, I said yes to the driver configure X.
-When prompted during driver install, I said yes to OpenGL 32 bit support
-There also was the message: "Error: File 'usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so' is not a symbolic link. during driver install.

Since I am not a Linux guru, detailed instructions on how to resolve this are most welcome!

Thank you, unfortunately blacklisting the nouveau driver didn't fix the problem. I did receive an odd error message when following the instructions for blacklisting the driver.

From the command line:
#mkinitrd -f /boot/initrd-$(uname -r).img $(uname -r)

With this result back:
/usr/bin/strip:/lib/modules/2.6.29.4-167.fc11.x86_64/kernel/drivers/video/nvidia.ko: File truncated
modinfo[4979]: segfault at 7fdec4091ba0 ip 0000000000402152 sp 00007fffcbf123c0 error 4 in modinfo [400000+14000]

I also # vi /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nouveau.conf and wrote the following to this file:
#RPM Fusion blacklist for nouveau driver - you need to run as root:
# mkinitrd -f /boot/initrd-$(uname -r).img $(uname -r)
# if nouveau is loaded despite this file
blacklist nouveau

>>This was done before the mkinitrd from the command line. Any suggestions??

Thank you

I resolved the segfault error by deleting the

InputDevice "Keyboard0" "Corekeyboard" and Section "Input Device" for the keyboard from xorg.conf and then re-ran the mkinitrd command described below w/o any error messages.

HOWEVER, still a blank screen after running 'startx' from the command line. Any suggestions to resolve this problem most welcome!

OK, fixed! The installer log file describes a bunch of files that can't be uninstalled because the current checksum doesn't match that at the time of installation. I renamed all these files as old.filename, uninstalled the new driver, then re-installed it. Voila! startx actually starts X.

Hope this is helpful to other people that run into the same problem.
