Which EVGA GTX 560 to get?

I'm getting ready to upgrade from my 8800GTX 640MB to one of the new GTX 560. I'm seeing that there are two EVGA models a base model which is just slightly clocked higher then reference and then their super clocked model set at 900Mhz.

My question is does it matter which one you go with? Do the super clocked models have a better chance of being overclocked more in comparison to the base models? I'm trying to figure out if there is any tangible reason for the two different models if they can both be overclocked the same.

I'm also expecting to get the Accelero EXTREME Plus cooler:

Is EVGA the only manufacturer sticking to the reference design, so they're the only ones this cooler will work with?

Is there any known difference between these two specific EVGA models in overclocking abilities?

I am not concerned with the cooling abilities of them or any of the other models as I will be replacing it with an Arctic Cooler.

First, I never have my graphics cards overclocked I prefer to buy them factory overclocked, leave the cooler on and enjoy the (sometimes extended) warranty.

I guess all manufacturer will test and select overclocked samples so they are not simply relabeled badges of the same product but carefully selected and tested so your ability to overclock further might be better with an already overclocked sample.

To be honest, both eVGA cards will be great. eVGA is top notch when it comes to nvidia video cards imo.

Yeah, that is certainly why I'm planning to go with EVGA. I had bought the base model on Saturday since they were out of the overclocked.

Even with my ancient overclocked E6600 3.4Ghz I was able to run every game I had at the max settings. Don't flog me, but even in the Crysis 2 beta I was consistently running at about 40-60FPS. I only run at 1280x720 resolution however since I game on my 37'' LCD TV, but even setting it to 1920x1080 it was butter smooth. Occasionally it would dip down to 25FPS on a few specific scenes. I'm shocked at how quiet the card is too with it's stock cooler. Almost couldn't even hear it until I've been gaming a while. Even then it was something I would have to really listen for.

Dual cores still do very well. However, if you ever start playing games with the Frostbite engine (e.g. Bad Company 2, BF3, etc.) then those 2 cores won't cut it hehe.
