Getting an ipad is the easy option but what about a slightly cheaper Android tablet?
would I be able to upgrade it to Android 3.0? Surfer 360 MN10U looks nice ,says 3.0 update in April... Hardware wise does this beat the crap out of an iPad or are they comparable? What are you wanting to do with this tablet? If you are looking for a hardware beast, you ought to wait to see what Apple has built in to the iPad 2 later this week OR you can wait for another couple of months for the Android camp to come up with something. From what I've seen, the Xoom is a really nice tablet but man is it expensive. And if the iPad2 stays around the $499 price point, it's going to be extremely hard for these other companies to compete. |

I assumed the iPad2 would be more expensive, They'd have to drop the iPad price a lot to sell it otherwise and I doubt that will happen.
If the iPad price does drop then good but it might be too long to wait, its for the other half.

Price Vs. Performance, iPad is king.
However, I bought a Nook Color and rooted it to run Android Froyo. 7" Tablet. Perfect. |

The Zoom basically out-specs the iPad and iPad 2 in pretty much every way, plus Honeycomb looks fantastic. If you can grab it for the $600 deals they have going on, you might net a nice little deal.

same Tegra 250 as the German tablet I mentioned? The 3D isn't out yet is it? She only wants it for the usual girl stuff, Facebook and ....that's about it, Angry birds?

she has her heart set on a tablet bless her...
I've advised waiting for Honeycomb and the possible iPad1 price drop until deciding but she does what she likes at the end of the day.

My wife loves her ipad and surprisingly I like it too. She uses it for school work, some scrabble online game and general internet use.
