Smile Amount of the video RAM wrongly detected by nvidia-drivers/settings-270.18

I bought for htpc a new Club3D low-profile Nvidia card, based on GF 210. Accordingly to the box and to the invoice, this card has 512MB DDR2 RAM. But nvidia-drivers-270.18 show the next info in Xorg.0.log:
Code:
[    43.176] (II) NVIDIA(0): NVIDIA GPU GeForce 210 (GT218) at PCI:1:0:0 (GPU-0)
[    43.176] (--) NVIDIA(0): Memory: 1048576 kBytes
[    43.176] (--) NVIDIA(0): VideoBIOS: 70.18.66.00.0b
[ 43.176] (II) NVIDIA(0): Detected PCI Express Link width: 16X
and the same info is given by nvidia-settings:
Code:
Attribute 'VideoRam' (Cassandra:0[gpu:0]): 1048576.
    'VideoRam' is an integer attribute.
    'VideoRam' is a read-only attribute.
    'VideoRam' can use the following target types: X Screen, GPU.
So far I did not find any Club3D GF 210 low-profile card, containing other amount of RAM but 512MB.
So, something is wrong. Should I worry about? The card works so far ok., but if the detected RAM value is incorrect, I can imagine possible troubles (when something will try to access non-existing videoRAM). The RAM chips at the card are inaccessible, being under the passive cooler; I do not want to remove the cooler to check chips present at the card (there is the warranty sticker, covering the passive cooler part of the card and the card is too new, so I would prefer do not irritate the reseller, at least for now ). How can I detect the real amount of videoRAM?

That number reports the total amount of memory available to the GPU. From NVCtrl.h:
Code:
/*
 * NV_CTRL_VIDEO_RAM - returns the total amount of memory available
 * to the specified GPU (or the GPU driving the specified X
 * screen). Note: if the GPU supports TurboCache(TM), the value
 * reported may exceed the amount of video memory installed on the
 * GPU. The value reported for integrated GPUs may likewise exceed
 * the amount of dedicated system memory set aside by the system
 * BIOS for use by the integrated GPU.
 */

Ok, thanks for the explanation... there is nothing written about TurboCache, nor at the box, nor in the pdf file on the attached CD, but likely you are right...

All modern GPUs support TurboCache memory. Some of the low-end GeForce 6 (and maybe 7) series cards are the only ones still supported that don't.
