Default G310M on Sony Vaio S13 - Blank Screen

Hi - I have a Vaio S13 (PCG-51113M)

If I install the NVIDIA drivers (I've tried various versions including the latest 170 one) , I get a blank screen when the Xserver starts up. I'm running ubuntu 10.10

I did see a custom EDID on the ubuntu forums and this did display noise rather than the blank screen but I'm no closer to a working display.

I've attached a bug report (note that I am running the non-nvidia driver at the moment to post this...)

Check if yout Laptop uses Optimus. If so - bad bews: you cannot use the nvidia gpu since optimus is not supported under linux!
