Last time I bought a game from Crytek they put out a total of 3 patches I believe, and not exactly in these words, but they pretty much said "We no longer are supporting this ****ing game, buy Warhead." and then went and did the same thing to it. Now those on the Windows 7 X64 who wish to go back and play Crysis MP, are plagued with an instant crash with no fix.. Only fix is to reinstall the game and not install the patches, but then you can't find any servers...

The mere fact they aren't releasing with DX11 support is enough for me to not buy the game, no matter how much fun I've had in their demo.

EA seems to make a habit of this crap. I mean honestly I think all game developers are taking a huge crap on the pc side of things for these console kiddies. I mean for the love of god look at what Rebellion did to the Alien vs. Predator franchise. They completely ruined it with that pathetic excuse of a game they put out. What is worse is they not only put out an awesome looking game, but then didn't release mod tools so we could use the sweet engine to make a nice game out of their foul up. So I paid 50 bucks for my AVP when it came out, and all it is, is a freaking pretty engine. The gameplay is awful. I guess I am glad I didn't fall for the crappy maps they put out for 20 bucks a pop.

I am going to wait and see how DICE do with BF3, hopefully it will be a slap in the face to the console kiddies, and be like BF2... other then that. After reading this post. Crytek can forget me purchasing their crappy game.... I honestly thought they had got it right this time, but now to read this. I wouldn't give 20 bucks for their game.

Crysis 2 is fairly much locked down in terms of advanced tweaking, but there is one working method of implementing cvars, and that is to add them to the launch box for the main executable. Right-click on the Crysis2Demo.exe file found under the \Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis 2 Demo\bin32\ directory and select 'Send to Desktop' to create a launch icon. Then right-click on this new icon on your desktop, select properties, and one blank space after the last character in the Target box, add your command(s) with a plus sign in front of them. This method is detailed at the bottom of this page of the Crysis Tweak Guide, and at the moment many of the commands from Crysis 1 can be used as shown in this section of the guide. For example, adding +g_skipintro 1 skips the intro screens, +cl_fov 85 changes your field of view to 85 degrees, +r_glow 0 disables the heavy glow effect visible particularly in Hardcore graphics, and so on. I'll hopefully have a full Crysis 2 Tweak Guide up at GeForce.com after the final version of the game is released.

It works great. No more glow and claustrophobia that was the default FOV, and no more stupid intros we can't skip.

I'm quite sure that there will be dx11 executable, what it might not have is the improved rendering paths for shader model 4 and 5.
DX9 and 10 needs to die, dx11 is simply superior and supports very old hardware. (yes, windowsxp support needs to die as well.)

I can see it already. First DLC available on launch date, that brings back DX11 support. Size of the file 100kB. Wonder how much will it cost...

+cl_fov=85 +r_DrawNearFoV = 85 +pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov = 85 +r_MotionBlur=0 +g_skipIntro=1

Stops the FOV resetting when you hit Sprint, removes intro movies and motion blur.

Meh, i dont care about DX10 or 11 or 12553. I dont usually notice a lot difference between DX9, 10 and 11 other than framerate and the shaders. I'll still be getting the game, after all i already preordered it, and from the demo, its still a better game than COD.

Personally I think I'll wait until the game is all it can be, ie, DX11 and any bugs sorted. No rush on my part.

BTW, we have a whole Crysis sub-forum for Crysis related threads

Mods; it would also be nice if we had the option to put it on ignore until silly season has ended
