The only positive thing IF this all turns out to be accurate with no future dx10/11 patches is i won't have to endure THREE ****ING YEARS OF CRYSIS SCREENSHOTS !!! wohooo !!!!!!

it was clear from the get go there would be no day zero patch implementing dx11 and making the graphics not mediocre...this is a console game from the ground up

Crysis 2 uses deferred shading. Going to need DX10/11 if you want anti-aliasing. So I predict no AA at launch. Same exact issue Shogun 2 Total War is having

Somebody got the retail PC version already. Apparently it comes with DX10, a mini patch renames the "start button", and the visual presets to "good" "very good" and "extreme". The game comes with a 32 bit and 64 bit exe, system.cfg is there and files are not encrypted and SP playable.

The swedish guy who provided the info about the retail version so far, installed Afterburner and all 3 presets run in DX9. The DX10 files on the DVD are just a part of the MS DX redist pack.

Going to wait until DX10/11 are patched in and see how things turn out. I had considered pre-ordering on Direct2Drive because of their 20% off code, but I didn't spent the money on my GTX470 just to have it render the same as my GTX280, only faster.
Huge disappointment for me. Maybe by the time Amazon has their 1 day sale for $39.99, they'll have a patch out.
