Post Front Page - Shipping box = ATX case? (Asus)

Ok, we've all seen the ghetto cardboard ATX case mods...

They're good for a laugh, right? But they do serve a purpose, and seem to be quite an economical way to enclose some PC components in a useful way. Well, Asus has been thinking about this as well. Shown off at Cebit Germany, this idea was brought to life due to what Asus saw as enthusiasts requiring quite a long period of time (sometimes) to decide on a case, so this idea would serve as a good in-between. And heck, it's kinda environmentally conscious, isn't it? Less packaging waste, right?

I like that they're making the case itself from the box that the motherboard is shipped in. reportedly Asus is going to start shipping one of their motherboards with this packaging this spring. It's only supposed to be a temporary solution, and obviously Asus has tested the design out (I would be interested to hear from Asus about how fire-safe this is). This reminds me of another cardboard case from a couple years ago.

According to wiki, the ignition temperature of paper is over 230C, so it should be pretty much safe
