Well, it's not in the list. What struck me about the 5800's presence is that I was under the assumption that nVidia had dropped all references to the 5800 (at least they have from their website). Yet, it's referred to here and the flagship 5900 isn't.

Ahhh...good. I guess some administrative assistant at nVidia was having an off day or something.

Default well...

It's great that they finally fixed the flickering, yes. However...

The stereo drivers no longer work, neither the 44.03 or the 45.23 stereo drivers.

Both the 44.03 and the 45.23 stereo drivers worked with the 45.23 display drivers, and any drivers from the last year, but not with these new "fixed" 45.33 drivers.

What a bummer. I am right back where I started.

Hopefully, it can be "fixed" yet again in a few months...sigh.

[EDIT] can anyone else confirm this, please? Perhaps a word from Nvidia PR? I have tried and re-tried and still cannot get them to work.

Default Munching on some crow 'bout now?

I'd like to hear from Atlas37, PsychoAus and Flavius. Have you downloaded the driver fix? Did it fix your 5900 problems? Just wondering where you guys are now.

Just injoy the moment. Glad for you guys! If nvidia improves on the NV38-40 core I'll buy one in a flash!

Thanks for being a good sport about it. I am enjoying it, this is great news. Granted, it looks like it should have been detected/fixed much earlier (before sent to retail)...but like I said, better late than never.

Did you completely uninstall your existing Dets?

Also, be sure to contact NVIDIA Support as they requested:

Have you been following this thread? There have been several very good suggestions on fixing the flickering problem. However, most of those were case specific and did not help the majority who were experiencing the flickering problem.

It this driver does not fix your problem maybe one of those remedies previously suggested might.

Wow! It fixed the flicker for all my systems! I am impressed. I know I got a little impatient and I'm sorry Nvidia. Now I can sell my 9800 Pro

Someone at HardOCP reported that the drivers increased the core temp quite a bit. Anyone else notice that? I wonder if they lowered the fan speed? I need some sleep- I'll check my gpu temps in depth tomorrow.

I think stereo drivers are different from normal NVIDIA drivers.

Check on Guru3D--for a while, there were no stereo drivers for FX IIRC. If that IS the case, there will be a hack for stereo glasses in 45.33 soon.

Default Temps Higher

I installed the 45.33's and it fixed the pulsing for me! Hooray!

However, yes, my GPU temps did increase by quite a bit...

44.71 - 41C Idle
45.33 - 49C Idle

I wonder if this is just a cosmetic problem, or if the temp is actually higher?

I never had a problem with the stereo drivers and the fx (they are a seperate exectable, btw). I don't think there can be a hack, unless NV does it.

On another note, I had to clock back my card after these fixed drivers due to sudden unexpected crashes. Sure enough, the card is 12 degrees hotter (idle) than it was before....

Some fix, imho.
