Default GeForce3 Ti 200 - no GPU temperature

Dear friends,

I cannot get GPU temperature readings from my Asus agp-v8200 graphics card. My system is Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic) kernel 2.6.31-14, recommended nvidia driver installed (nvidia-glx-96). "nvidia-settings -q gpucoretemp" does not give any temperature readings, "nvidia-settings -q all" does not show any temperature-related attribute. My card does have a thermal chip, Asus SmartDoctor for Windows shows temperatures for both GPU and GRAM. Does anybody know how to get GPU temperature for Asus agp-v8200 in linux?
