There is untethered for 4.2.1 and it's quite elegant. None yet for 4.3. Maybe one soon if you saved the shsh blobs. If not one later in the month.

Is anyone really surprised by this?

I'm not.... iPhone 3g's are pretty slow devices, they couldn't hardly handle the update to 4.0 if I remember right.

It's probably due-time for an upgrade anyway if you're a power user.... or if you're a power user you've already upgraded, and face it, who here isn't a power user?

Oh I thought apple banned third party browsers. Sorry my bad.

Considering I haven't hooked my iPod touch up to my computer for about 5 months, yes, yes it is that much of a hassle.

I just charge it. I don't really buy/transfer music. I just stream. And I buy my apps through the store on the device.

No, but I don't know if they allow you to change the default browser...

It wasn't settled for a while.... Originally they said that any app that replicated the functionality of an already provisioned Apple app would not be allowed to compete, browsers, music players, stuff like that....

To this day they won't let you load another keyboard on them.... lol @ not having Swype.... ever

I hate their policies and BS, although it is true, they do allow 3rd party browsers, Opera was the first to break that barrier

apple probably didn't do this out of kindness of their hearth, they were probably worried that eventually opera or mozilla will stir up lawsuit like they did with MS and IE

Now way. Apple can get away with anything. Look at all the junk they bundle with MacOS. If ms did that they'd be attacked by the EU.

LOL MS barely includes anything as it is and they still get attacked left and right.

I hate it when and Fanboy uses the MacOS bundle as a win over Windows. Windows would have that bundle IF they were allowed to. MS haven't gotten around it somewhat moving to a download as you need it system with Live and MP and Ie in certain countries.

So if Microsoft makes Windows Movie Maker, why is it that they don't include it with a PC? I'm just asking, I have no idea why they don't include it like they did with XP. Just curious. I find it surprising that they can't include their own software.

The "junk" that comes with OS X (iMovie, Garageband, etc) is actually pretty awesome software; way better than Microsoft's offering IMO.
