Default Monitor Not waking from System Standby

I have been working with a customer that has a Lenovo Desktop running Windows XP and here is the issue. After 45 minutes his computer goes into System Standby but when he awakes it up the Monitor never receives any signal. The only option is to manual turn the computer off. I have updated the Video Drivers, Tested another monitor which had the same results and even replaced his video card with a Nvidia Geforce 8400GS (He had on-board Nvidia Geforce 6100.) Any idea what could be causing this? I was thinking the system could be under-powered as well.

What do you mean by "Monitor not waking up"?
My monitor will turn OFF if no signal is received for 5+ minutes. I will have to turn it back ON manually if I want it to restart displaying anything.

Other question: how do you know the system restarts correctly from stand-by if you cannot display anything? Could it not be a stand-by problem (never waking up from it correctly)? WinXP is not quite up to par on its standby modes...

Basically the monitor never receives a signal when you press the power button on the system tower. The light stays amber and never goes to green.
