It's this new complaining phenomenon. Every game forum I see the same thing--people bitching and complaining about good games. It's like people have forgotten how to just play a game and have fun.

Man those aliens don't mess around! geez!

so far the game is fun as everyone says but it does feel a bit tainted compared to the first game. And also like the first game, some textures are meh and some are great. Example

ALSO, is it just the forceware 267.24 drivers to blame or is there any reason in particular my 2nd GPU is only being used at a maximum of 15%.... other GPU is pegged at 99% use. WAT?

Not even in the sections where things get crazy and it dips down below 50 fps does the 2nd GPU go any higher than 20%...

Anyways, though the lighting bloom and lack of POM still irritates the hell out of me, it aint ugly... that's for DAMN sure.

I just finished uploading this using the maxed out graphics/tweaks. (click the pop out button to watch in 720p)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UfYxplQVlE

Even still, youtube compressed the mess out of it. 1.1 gig AVI file shrunk down to what I imagine to be about 20 megs at most

Seems like it was unanimous that pretty much everyone loved bulletstorm and deadspace 2.

Crysis 1 was the crown jewel of pc gaming splendor and it went from the loftiest heights of graphic tweakbility and community friendliness to a locked down optionless corridor shooter.

You must have read a different forum than I did. They took some hits too. Maybe not as much as this one. I have all three. As far as I'm concerned, all are good and about equal to each other. I may pick a different favorite among them on any given day depending on how I feel that day. I'll play all three many more times to come.

Both Bulletstorm and Dead Space 2 are also console games. On metacritic Crysis 2 does better than Bulletstorm and close to Dead Space 2. It's just that Crysis 2 takes extra hits just for not being an uber-graphics PC game.

I loved the original Crysis but I played most of it at 25fps on my 8800GTS and the boss battle was a slide show.

I've played the game for a little while and I can't help feeling a bit disappointed. The game looks nice, but at the same time I don't like the amount of bloom/glows. I would happily trade the bloom for more AA. I thought the first level actually looked a bit ugly, it's way too brown and yellow for my tastes. The second level looks better though.

The gameplay is fun and enjoyable, but I really hope more options to tweak the settings will be available in the future. I like for example the "Very High" setting more than "Extreme", but the object quality is significantly worse at the former setting, but the shading/colors look better IMHO.

Thanks. I'll try it out when I get home.

Usually when it comes to the internet, only people with an issue will post, be it technical or otherwise.

I myself have an issue with Crysis 2 having too many FPS. WTF? I remember when I had to struggle to get FPS and now they consolised it and made getting FPS to easy. These are noob FPS!

Played a while yesterday and the game looks very nice and plays well.

Need to do some additional tweaking today, if I get some extra graphics options on as well.
Checking if there is possibility to add light cascades over 3 and propagation distance, should increase the overall quality of GI. (which is very nice already.)

This is the cfg it generated. My only question is, what controls the light bloom. It's gotta go. Is that what "post processing" is? There's no "off" just low, med, high settings for that value.

I think if I can get rid of the bloom and light glow, I can live with it until we get some more proper settings. This is just a bare bones config tweak. Not even the tip of the iceberg.

Code:
g_skipIntro=1
cl_fov=80
pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov=90
i_mouse_accel=0
i_mouse_accel_max=100
i_mouse_smooth=0
r_motionblur=0
g_radialBlur=0
cl_zoomToggle=0

sys_spec_texture=3

cl_crouchtoggle=0
Ninja edit: nope. post processing wasn't it. I'll try "effects" now.

Edit2: Nope that wasn't it either WTFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU

add this and try..

+r_Flares=0/1 -> Disables/Enables Flare effects around certain dynamic lights

+r_Glow=0/1 -> Disables/Enables Bloom effects

+r_HDRRendering=0/1 -> Disables/Enables HDR Rendering

+r_SSAO=0/1 -> Disables/Enables Screen Space Ambient Occlusion

+q_ShaderHDR=0/1 -> Disables/Enables Shader HDR effects

+r_ColorGrading=0/1 -> Disables/Enables Color Grading
