I don't understand all the hate... If you guys gave it a chance I really think you'd like it. The story is good so far, the game-play is fun and has been a nice blending of the original suit mechanics along with a new environment. Visually it actually does look a lot better than the first too, blurrier, but smoother, it has a SSAA-like effect to most things making the edges super hard to distinguish.
I bought it, have played it for a solid 4 hours, and really enjoy it. Yeh it's a cross-platform game, but it's not exactly a port, they co-developed it for both the pc and console, you can tell the PC version wasn't an after-thought. Gameplay doesn't suffer from it being cross-platform, in fact the suit mode consolidation into just 3 modes, using Q and E to select has made things a bit easier.... it always seemed dumb that speed and strength weren't combined. As for the other "console port" controls, like having C for crouch instead of ctrl, well look at the mechanic of running then sliding, you can't easily hit Shift and then CTRL, so the use of C makes perfect sense. You guys really should try it before you make huge judgments about it. It's been a great game so far and when you see it "in action" it looks better than Crysis 1 because of the way it handles edges and foliage. Crysis 1 looked like **** without SSAA because of the foliage and all the rough edges.

+1. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Crysis 2 and Homefront are all great games. Quit hating for no reason other than "there is a console version too". I changed crouch to control cause it's right under my finger.. a poor port wouldn't let you remap keys...Crysis 2 does. |

Anyone played this in 3D? I saw a video of someone playing it on 3 panels in 3D. Also I heard that the game looks amazing in 3D.
I wonder if the push for 3D has forced Crytek to focus more on high framerates. The same thing happened with GT5 in on the PS3.

The main problem for me when I play Crysis 2 in 3D Vision is that Crysis 2's method also creates ghosting artifacts around certain objects, like your gun. ![]() Taken from this thread http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?s...c=196113&st=60 As you can see, there's artifacting around the gun especially evident on the barrel and the front iron sight, and it looks like a warped transparent version of the gun just slightly offset from the actual model. This happens for some in-game objects too.

Consoles don't have mods...So I don't expect them to release this on PC either.

And people thought UT3 was bad. At least it come with an editor and assets not encrypted. The tech demos show all the good stuff but they just don't turn up in the final game, just like UT3.
Clearly CE3 is aimed at developers now wanting to licences the engine and not for users to play around with and mod. |

Ok, somebody go ahead and do me a big favor. Just go ahead and gift this game to me on Steam, and I'll pay you back on April the 8th, aight?
EDIT: And yes, I know I said I'd wait until it was on sale, but I have a 3 day weekend and nothing to freaking do :\. |

Possible SLI fix for nvidia users. I'm going to give it a shot this weekend.
