I'm liking the game a lot more now, despite the AI problems like shooting through walls. Four hours in and the combat can be really enjoyable with the suit. The gameplay is very good and so is the level design with plenty of ways to move between and around soldiers in stealth mode. The story is starting to get a bit more interesting and I'm really liking the cityscape.

crainger, but why not let me unlock stuff as I go along instead of all at the end? that's like playing wow and not getting talent points till you are level 60.

Maybe I was missing something or not seeing correctly but I really didn't see what made the graphics in Crysis 1 so good? In all honesty I thought CoD Modern Warfare looked better and it ran great. I installed Crysis one the other day just to check it out again and it confirmed my first thoughts, the graphics weren't that great, sure the ocean looked impressive with the water moving etc but that was it.

??

You are unlocking as you are going. It's a longer game than most FPS of recent, you are at the start from the sound of it. It's a gradual process that skills and weapons are added. If you really want them faster get a trainer or something.

He said it was his thoughts, you can't accuse someone of trolling when they are just stating their opinion. If he said.

OMFG CoD:MW is clearly has better graphics than Crysis!!!!1111.

That might be a troll. What you just said is more of a troll then penny's post.

Having said that the CoD series have always looked decent. They do what they do well, to me Crysis has the upper hand, especially Warfare night intro. Could you imagine those effects in a Gulf War setting? Intense.

Anyone else feel the mouse movement to be quite jittery? Tried disabling acceleration and smoothing and its still weird.

As said, Crysis was ahead of it's time and I think it still looks better and sharper. Crysis 2 is optimised for consoles with lower fidelity, higher frame rate.

I also think that because DX9 is so old now, developers know how to get the best out of it and why Crysis 2 looks good on XBox360.

Yeah. High frame rate is console noobness. Give me 5FPS AA, DoF, Blur, Tessellation, Mega Textures, Normal mapping, ray tracing goodness. ::

Cryengine 3 scales for high end PCs. It was developed as a PC game with the ability to be ported / castrated for consoles. I don't know what you guys are looking at but Crysis 2 looks amazing and the frame rate is excellent. I played at lower than optimal res with no AA for Crysis 1, not so this time around. Playing in Very High gets me 100-130 FPS and Extreme 80-100 FPS. The console gets 30 fps at it's best, frame rate drops and is the equivalence of the PC version on low (as per dev interview I saw).

DX9 still looks great... and how many DX10 / DX11 games run good? None, they all tank the framerate, look the same and we end up running DX9 anyways...I think BF BC2 is the only game I run in DX11. Sad that it was supposed to speed API calls up yet everytime I DX11 game is released I'm disappointed and end up running DX9 to gain some extra performance anyways.

I think the perceptions here have gotten too blurred.

True, most DX10/DX11 really kill the FPS.

WoW is an example of a game that does run better in DX11. DX11 adds better lighting and water along with texture management. It's not a huge difference visually than DX9 for WoW, but the performance is very noticeable.
