I'm playing this on Veteran. It's a good challenge. I like checkpoints. Yes, the can be frustrating but they add to the challenge. Rainbow Six Vegas was one of my favorite games and it had a checkpoint system.

I had a pretty tough firefight at the docs. Had to redo it many times. No saving halfway through the fight. Had to finish it like a man.

So far my only complaint is that the AI sometimes glitch and get stuck in tiny circles.

Overall, so far, this is playing like the best Crysis game.

Yeah, sometimes the AI acts like a dork, other times it's pretty crafty. Those aliens will often circle the long way round to to appear behind me.

Saving half way through a fire fight never even crossed my mind, look if you're a little weasel that has to use that tactic to cheat then so be it... but sometimes I just want to play for 10-15mins and then I gotta go, and I don't want to have to keep repeating stuff over and over... if you ask me Check Points is just another way of developers trying to force people to play their game a certain way - stop trying to control us... it's not a big deal I just hate any forms of control...

I think the Prophet scene at the beginning of the game was Crytek's artistic and symbolic farewell to the PC only story line that was Crysis and Crysis Warhead. There's not even a mention of Nomad or Psycho anywhere in the game.

If you're paying attention however somethings from Crysis 1 start making a little more sense, like how Prophet was able to rig up the alien gun, but in typical Crytek fashion it's a story told half-assed.

If they would have built this game with the graphics quality of C1, the destructible environment of C1, open up it up a bit more so it's not such a corridor game (this really becomes more relevant the 2nd time through), and hired someone to give the story line just a bit more depth it would IMO literally be the best game I ever played. As is, I'm sticking to 'HL2 with a weaker story line and no gravity gun'.

I have seen the AI grenade itself many times already... it makes me laugh.

The AI seemed worse in Crysis 1 and Far Cry.

Does anyone else get the extreme urge to play through Far Cry again after starting this up?

... I might be way off, in fact I'm sure I will be. But I think in the end of the Crysis series they're going to tie in Cryogen, or whatever the company was from Far Cry... I really think their early research is going to lead to the Crysis suits.

Far stretch... I know, but it'd be epic
