Normally I would not do this but I wanted to test and see if I could get it to run at a solid 60 as much as possible with everything maxed. At native res of 1920x1080 no. However, since I use HDMI out to a receiver that has a fujuda scaling chip for video I dropped to 1600x900 (created a custom res based on 16:9 aspect) for this game is not obvious at all.

I see no added blur or aliasing from running a little lower res out of native because my display is still receiving native 1080p and the scaling being done by my receiver with that bad ass fujuda scaling chip is has. Even desktop at 1600x900 doesnt look blurred or anything however this is the 1st game I have tried this on because with my rig most everything I play pegs 60 all the time. Everything maxed with a custom auto exec that maxes out the in game aa. Smooth as butter on a single 580. Consider I am over clocking on my gpu which is at 945mhz so this 580 is screaming fast.

Its this or cap the framerate down to like 45 so that the drops are not as obvious. I prefer framerate over a few jaggies that I am not even seeing. 1600x900 isnt that big of a drop anyway. Also, this is on a 55" screen so it should be very obvious but it is not. As a matter of fact after creating the new res I tried it on other games that run fine maxed in 1080p and the only way I could tell a difference was msi afterburners on screen stat fonts are larger.

What the hell do people expect. This game looks amazing with dx11 and all maxed. Have to play at 1600x900 to keep it at 60pfs but I can not tell the diff. It is really not a big drop from 1080p. On a 580 at 945 core the game hits lower 40's and some 30's at 1080p yet never falls below 50 at 1600x900. That to me seems very odd.

There is no way in hell hq textures works in my game, dx 11 tesselation works but there's zero difference with hq textures on or off for me I understand why i thought the game was underwhelming graphicly now since looking at the textures in slawters game. I wish i knew why it isn't working though, the game says they're enabled :

Dx9:

Dx11+ HQ textures enabled:

Comparison shots , first dx9 hq textures disabled:

Dx11+hq textures:

Looks identical, not sure what's wrong since the DX11 mode obviously works and the game tells me that the textures are enabled.

Some more shots, also with HQ textures enabled, does it look like this for you guys aswell ?

Have you tried different drivers sammy? The last official NV release (275.33) was a huge bomb, lot of folks had many issues, myself included. Everything from performance to IQ to crashing issues...

I went back to the 270.61s sammy. To clarify, I don't have Crysis 2 yet, but several games had severe IQ issues with the 275s...I figured it might be worth a try because that really doesn't look very good for you.
