Default Separate X Screens, how to free up mouse when XBMC is fullscreen?

I used Twinview for a few years and now am adding an LCD TV to my HTPC. XBMC does not fullscreen in only one monitor when using Twinview, but it does when using Separate X Screens, so I'm trying to use it.

XBMC now does fullscreen just fine in one monitor, however, it locks the mouse when doing so, making the solution moot. I am guessing it's not the only app that may do this, is there any workaround?

Thanks for any help

You simply do not want to use full screen. Run XMBC in windowed mode and just stretch it to the size of the display. I think it's a fundamental part of going into full screen is that it locks the mouse to that window. (Imagine playing a game like warcraft where you need to move the mouse to the edge of the screen to scroll your view. The mouse would constantly leave the window and it wouldn't work properly)
