Default XPSP3 b4 using SATA HDD, huh?

From the P8P67 LE manual

"You must install Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later version before using Serial ATA hard disk drives"

I don't understand this, You have to instal OS on an IDE drive first???

\or you just have to use ide mode?

I did a research about it and found out that XP SP3 did not have native SATA support so it mean you will need to make a blank floppy/CD/DVD to copy Intel P67 chipset SATA driver for XP SP3 which the XP installation will ask for SATA driver before proceed.

If you're running a P67, odds are you have more 4GB or more of RAM, so running XP isn't suggested anyways.

It was easier to install xp on a different machine then swap the frickin drive!

theres no floppy connector on the board and usb floppy wasn't playing ball.

But he has 7 now so no need.

Oh right I didnt realised P8P67 LE didnt have floppy connector on the motherboard after read the manual. It great to get rid of floppy but it would be better to get rid of IDE connector too.
