Question SPDIF to HDMI (GTX 295)

Hi all,

I recently got a replacement video card (GTX 295) for my rig and i bought a Xonar DS audio card to enjoy multichannel audio without a cable's salad on the back of the computer.

My question is the graphic card has SPDIF out with 2 pins to which i plug the SPDIF cable that came with it, until then no problems. Now, the Xonar DS has 3 pins (2 pins on the left and empty space and another pin to the right) on the SPDIF connector and the other end of the SPDIF cable has only 2 pins. I'm assuming that i should plug it to the 2 pins on the left of the Xonar DS' SPDIF connector but what about the colours??

I have also heard that is not that easy to setup the Xonar in order to get proper multichannel audio from the SPDIF out. Since i'm using XP SP3 and the audio setup is not that user friendly, can someone help me out??
