Default Seagate - Momentus XT 500Gb

Hybrid drive, anyone using one of these? Looks tough to beat on the space/price/performance front, nice balance of all 3.

I have one, my boss has one and six does too. I write a review for biz tech magazine as well.

Fantastic drive but my first question is- what type of a computer is it going in? I'll respond with new info once we know that.

HP 3181nr laptop. I have my 60gb SSD in it now, but it just isn't going to do it...too small, and I just don't want to carry around another Hdd. The speed spoiled me though.

Thanks zoomy

I have one as my main drive in my PC. Speedy boot and equal to my previous Raptors (150's) in feel and WEI score.

Has been a solid drive so far.

Good to hear, thanks man. Think I might just snag one today.

EDIT: Bought.

$149 retail from the egg (won't buy their bare drives) and $119 at Bestbuy. Reviews on this just look too good to pass up.

You will love it my friend. I will link you to my review tomorrow. Be sure to check the firmware version, which I can link you to the updates as well.

Firmware is all set according to their advisor, looking forward to your review. I really was not expecting this thing to be quite this snappy.

Agreed. I had expectations of it when I got mine but now that I have used it I would never use anything else.

Yep, unless the laptop has dual hdd bays for an SSD boot + storage, or the buyer just has tons of cash (I don't LoL) this is the only way to go.

Just curious, are you using any of the SSD tweaks zoomy? I just installed and left it as a straight mechanical drive.
