That's exactly what it was.

Roadhog, type "mat_picmip 0" in the console and load a level and you'll see what I was seeing. Too bad it won't let us do mat_picmip -10 as it will always reset to -1.

Pretty good game, writing is very clever most of the time with many laugh out loud moments thanks to gladdos and wheatley. I guess I had just as much fun out of this as I did with Portal. Less twitch puzzles in this one. The gel stuff is pretty interesting and they added some new items to learn all over again. Still has a few aha moments, only the last few puzzles had me thinking for more than a few seconds. Under six hours for the campaign which was more than long enough. thankfully they didn't have you doing puzzle room after puzzle room for too long. Visually nothing special but does the job I guess. Need to play the coop but a solid 8.5/10

This game is amazing! The story is just unbelievable, and the humor is even more pitch black than the first game. It's made even better by the other characters than GLADoS. The first scene had me an my fiance balling with laughter the entire time.

I bought the PS3 version so that I could have a copy on both console and PC, so here's my impressions.

PS3 version:
  • 30 FPS cap
  • thumbsticks make it difficult to navigate sometimes (even though it doesn't feel bad at all)
  • Sound is fantastic
  • Graphics are definitely toned down (lower res shadows, textures, etc.). However, the detail for a PS3 game is simply stunning!
  • Gameplay is somewhat slowed by long loading times.

PC version:
  • 150-200 FPS average on my current setup (with a 300 FPS cap)
  • This game was designed for mouse and keyboard, and you can tell from the moment you start playing.
  • Sound is fantastic (again)
  • Graphics are beautiful, especially at very high detail, 8xMSAA, and 16xAF. Definitely more polish on this than the PS3 version, and it runs much more smoothly.
  • Gameplay is fine, but the load times are still bothersome for PC.

PS3 version: 8.8/10

PC version: 9.5/10

For anyone that claims this is a console port, I think it's the other way around. This feels like a PC game that was ported to consoles. In true Valve style, this game feels absolutely perfect on PC. It's good to know that there's at least one company out there that hasn't neglected their true fan base.

You forgot to add that the PS3 version actually is running MLAA so it doesn't look jaggie like the X360 version (that most reviews are based on).
