Default Improving OpenGL performance on Quadro FX 3800

I am currently developing software to simultaneously render multiple videos. We are running on CentOS 5.4 with a Quadro FX3800 and driver version 260.19.44. We are running with dual heads in a Twinview configuration. When using VDPAU we are able to render 5 different videos, include one full size HD video and several quarter size (960x540) HD videos without any tearing or performance issues. We have also tried rendering using OpenGL, but see a signifcant impact on performance. We can only render two videos before seeing a siginificant drop in performance. Are there any tweaks that can be made to the driver setting or X configuration to improve the OpenGL performance?

Thanks
