Thanks for your opinion. I have just 256mb of DDR RAM. I was planning on continuing with Win98SE but now I am willing to try out WinXP

NO! Read my first post in this thread. I've tried 256 on XP and it was sluggish as all getout. Before you try XP, get another 256 mb.

If you can't afford another 256, as I said already, use Windows 2000.

I once ran my xp on 128mb PC133Mhz. It is abviously advisable to upgrade ur ram but if u cant then 256 DDR would be OK if u set everytin to minimal perf.
