I think I'll give it a couple of days before I attempt to turn the PS3 back on...

I don't know if I'd do that either. Maybe the slims finally last longer, but it just seems like this whole generation of consoles was massive fail. Even if you had a Wii sitting there next to the offline PS3 and RROD xbox you'd probably let it collect dust.

Bman, I logged in last night and downloaded the update and it prompted me to change my password as soon as I tried to sign in. It felt snappier the system as well so I am guessing the rebuild also added some optimizations.

Updated the firmware, it prompts me that I must change my password, but gives me an error when trying to connect. I guess it isn't really working properly.

All you can do is change your password, store and some other services are still down. Online play works as does Hulu and Netflix.

I didn't have any issue this morning. Went right through.

Ya, I was just messing around but I completely agree - This generation does seem somewhat lackluster.

Why did people say Netflix was down? I've been watching it the whole time on my PS3 without issue...All you had to do was attempt to login to PSN then back out. I think I've streamed 7 or 8 movies on PS3 since the outage.

Even though it's too little too late I did delete my CC info off my profile, as well as change my home address to something 'colorful". If this happens again I reckon all they'll have is my email address and middle name.

I read on another thread that Neflix works for some people but not all. There are several versions of Netflix PS3 out there and some simply don't work with PSN down.

This weekend was the first time in about 3 months I decided to use my PS3 for more than watching B/R movies. I tried to get online to play Madden 2K11, and of course, the network was down. I was like "Meh", and went on to play BCBF2.
