I have yet to have the slightest problem what-so-ever, then again I haven't turned my ps3 in near two months.

I've lost count, is this seven times now? Fail.

Just as was the case with the sonymusic.gr hack and LulzSec's sonymusic.co.jp hack, the latest hack was performed using SQL injection: a rudimentary technique that depends on improper handling of Web site URLs. Being susceptible to SQL injection is embarrassing enough—techniques to prevent it are well-known, and easy to apply to any database-driven Web site—but what makes this hack even worse is the data that has been compromised.

"From a single injection, we accessed everything," said the group. "What's worse is that every bit of data we took wasn't encrypted. Sony stored over 1,000,000 passwords of its customers in plaintext, which means it's just a matter of taking it."

You guys realize that Sony is a huge corporation, right? You also realize that different people are responsible for each and every one of these sites, right?

What does any of this have to do with the PSN?

Corporate policy?

And you'd think with the ongoing PSN fiasco, they'd be auditing all their public-facing portals?

I made a site using PHP/MySQL for my dad that has about 40 users. I encrypted passwords and escaped strings to prevent injection attacks.

I don't even have an IT degree. I am just a self-taught freelance guy. And even I understand these very simple security exploits. What the hell were the people who made these sites thinking? They should be sued by Sony. And if the sites were developed in house, those responsible should be fired.

It's due to all the traffic. Back out and try it again and it will work, sometimes it takes a few tries.

I ended up getting Dead Nation and LBP as my games. I've been playing Dead Nation the last couple of hours, I really like it.

I ended up getting LBP and Infamous. I would never probably play WipeoutHD, and at least with both LBP and Infamous completely on the HD, I won't need to dig out the discs to play so I might actually finish them . But man is the DL from the store slow.

Dead Nation is a great game. I bought it when it was released and I don't regret buying it. If you don't own it, it's definitely worth getting it as your free title. Though cost wise, it'd be cheaper to buy it for $10 then get LBP and Infamous as they both go for more (well infamous goes for $30 and LBP I don't actually see for sale).
