Post New Honeycomb Tablets, New Features, New Price Points

The next wave of Honeycomb tablets has arrived, and they're setting new levels of performance and pricing.

Check out these four devices that are now hitting the streets.

ASUS's Tegra-powered Eee Pad Transformer TF101 tablet is available today at Best Buy stores and online, joining Acer's Tegra-powered Acer Iconia Tab A500 tablet, which is available in stores. Starting at under $400, the Eee Pad Transformer brings new, affordable price points to tablets running Honeycomb (also known as Android 3.0).

There's a lot about these tablets to be excited about. True to its 'Transformer' name, the Eee Pad Transformer comes with an optional docking station, which transforms the device into a full-fledged notebook with a QWERTY keyboard, and extending battery life up to 16 hours. It also features a 10.1-inch screen, front (1.2MP) and rear (5MP) digital cameras, built-in SRS Sound technology and a mini-HDMI output port for playback on your favorite HDTV.

But the Eee Pad Transformer's most distinguishing feature might just be its price. It's just $399 for the WiFi 16GB model. This brings the combined wonders of Honeycomb and Tegra to a whole new price point.

The Acer Iconia Tab A500 tablet is also now available at Best Buy. It's designed for mobile HD entertainment, featuring a slim, modern design, high-resolution 10.1-inch multi-touch screen. It also has 10-point multi-touch and gyrometer control for playing HD arcade games and online 3D games. For seamless digital media sharing, Acer's clear.fi is also pre-installed. Its starting price is $449.99.

Separately, it's great to see that the Honeycomb tablet that started it all, the Motorola XOOM, is now available in a new WiFi-only, 32 GB version for only $599.

These devices join the new T-Mobile G-Slate (starting at $529.99) as the latest tablets that run Honeycomb ' the first GPU-accelerated tablet user interface. They offer a rich, high quality experience, including fast web browsing, Flash support, true multitasking, and console-quality gaming with Tegra Zone games.

These four tablets are just the beginning. Look for more Honeycomb tablets to come soon, offering consumers a variety of options for their mobile computing experience.
