Default Xorg unstable/laggy after resume from suspend [Dell, NVS 3100M]

Occasionally, Xorg becomes really unstable and laggy right after laptop has resumed from suspend. Redraw is sluggish, and system stalls completely on input and X for long periods. This is accompanied by NVRM errors in kernel log. The nvidia driver eventually manages to get things up and running after switching to console and back to X. The data in nvidia-bug-report.log looks interesting and contains an Xorg backtrace amongst other things.

I typically see things like these (all in the bug report):
NVRM: os_schedule: Attempted to yield the CPU while in atomic or interrupt context
NVRM: Xid (0001:00): 53, CMDre 00000000 00000080 00000000 00000005 00000005

Hardware: Dell E6510 laptop (latest BIOS A05) with Nvidia NVS 3100M graphics adapter.
Os: Ubuntu 10.04 x86-64, Xserver 1.7, kernel 2.6.32 (default Ubuntu kernel). No special Xorg configuration.
Current Nvidia driver: 260.19.12.

This issue was not present with the older 195.X Nvidia driver (but otherwise equal system).

I actually get scheduler warnings like these every time I switch to console from X:

[ 2651.002145] NVRM: os_schedule: Attempted to yield the CPU while in atomic or interrupt context
[ 2652.997930] NVRM: os_schedule: Attempted to yield the CPU while in atomic or interrupt context

I've had to revert to 195.36.24, since these "NVRM: os_schedule: Attempted to yield the CPU while in atomic or interrupt context" errors appear whenever I switch to console. I thought VC switch might cure problems after resume, but it turns out that is not always the case. And sometimes requiring reboot after resume is unacceptable to me.

I can confirm this happens to me as well.

I get the same message "NVRM: os_schedule: Attempted to yield the CPU while in atomic or interrupt context" after resume.

I*will downgrade until issue is fixed..

I don't experience this problem anymore with latest 270.41.06 nvidia driver and latest 2.6.32-32-generic Lucid kernel [Lucid x86-64, Xserver 1.7.6].
