Default GTS250 to GTX275 worth it?

Ok so my GTS250 is getting a little long in the tooth, sold my 9800GX2 awhile ago and grabed this as my CPU at the time was holding it back anyway and I actully got the same preformance wtih the GTS250 lol. So ive got an offer of 65 for my used GTS250 512mb and my buddy has an EVGA GTX275 he wants to sell me for 100, what do yall think, is it a worthwhile upgrade?

hard to go wrong for $20

a GTS450 = GTS250 lol, and a GTX 460 and 6850 are out of my budget range of 50 + what im selling the GTS for lol so for the GTS275 id pay 35, find me 115 dollar GPU that is better than a GTX275 that he said he will RMA for me if need be, so its covered under lifetime lol. What im more interested in is this.

What kind of preformance gain can i expect.

Will my AThlon II X3 450 unlocked to Quad core and Oced to 3.7ghz slow it down, or will I be ok

Also games played

Mass Effect
Mass Effect 2
Company of Hereo's
Call of Duty Black Ops
World of Warcraft

I'd honestly say... no, it's not worth your money, for two basic reasons:

1. a GTX 275 is a GTX 260 with 24 more CUDA cores and almost 40W more of TDP.
2. current 400 series from NVIDIA is even better and at a similar price point.

If you're very tight on budget and you can pass on DirectX 11, go for a GTX 260, it will be cheaper, quieter, 216 cores are more than enough for current games (at moderate-to-high quality settings) and it won't be stopped by your current CPU (I had a Phenom II X4 905e @ 2.5GHz / 65W, and it didn't really go slow).

So, essentially... that. If you're very tight, GTX 260 (it's my recommendation, at least). If you can grab a couple more of dollars/euros here and there... a GTX 460 is a good card for you.

Hope that helps

EDIT: Didn't fully read your comment, sorry... go with the GTX 275. Worth it? For sure! going from 128 to 240 cores IS a big difference

A GTX 275 is close in performance to a GTX460 so yea for that cheap of cost go for it.
I admit I don't play a whole lot of games anymore but this GTX275 I have plays the few games I do play very well at 1920x1080.
