Going to replay this I think. I had removed it a few months ago. This patch is HUGE and keeps timing out (It's using their patcher). It keeps downloading these 256 Meg file chunks, I have 25 of them so far.

I think I will start from scratch too and replay the first one again while I'm at it. That should keep me busy for a few "days"

I have the GoG version, too. I just picked English and the update is around 10-11GB. They are calling it the EE patch.

Steam and The Witcher 2 have never mixed well.

Yep, started browsing for solutions on steams forums and it does look like there's a number of problems going on.

That said though, wow this game is gorgeous. Wish I could max out the graphics.....

I was busy last night but I'm still trying to download this whopper of a patch.

The Witcher 2 has the worse patching system of any game I have played. They have these incremental patches and they don't put out a patch that includes previous ones. The patches fail in the beginning due to incorrect versions or whatever.

(Remember, I reinstalled the game from scratch)

Regardless, I have it patched up to 2.1 right now and I can play it, but I want to throw the new stuff (EE) on before I really dig in.

Their downloader fails for me after 1-3 files get downloaded and I have to restart it. I found a link on their website that allows me to manually get each 256 MB file, so I am doing that through Chrome, clicking 4 at a time, fairly quick, but there's 35 of them. What a PITA.

Do you have the GOG version? The patching with them is seamless but the actual game's built in updater has worked flawlessly for me as well.

I was using CD Projekt Red's patchers.

I'll just grab the files using the webpage. I'm almost done.
