Default Help Intel17 overclock his i7 860!

Yo,

So I'm running an Asus P7P55 WS SuperComputer mobo and an i7 860 with a Noctua NH-D14.

What are good target clock speeds? What are good voltages? Right now I'm running 3.36GHz using the mobo's automatic "CPU-level up", but I want to get moar.

In order to keep it stable, no more than 3.9 to 4.0. Push it any farther and it will waste more power, and you wont see much of a benefit. I had that same chip-set, before upgrading to I7 970 six core, and this CPU is pegged at 4.1 everyday. Got as far as 4.5 but not worth the heat it generated, even with my D14.

I have my 870 running at 4Ghz 24/7. Any higher and I didn't notice much of a difference.
