Well hell yes you should bitch to them if it isn't working right.
It says somehow they can tell if your drive is causing problems after the update so maybe yours is one of them. Regardless if it isn't working right and it is under warranty call them up, that's what the warranty is for. |

I bought my Elite in July of 2008 so it had 1 month left on the Red Ring of Death warranty.

Just FYI, the replacement thing is due to the new disc format they are going to be using from now on. There is a firmware upgrade that is incompatible with some 360 DVD drives and it makes reading the new discs impossible. That is what MS will upgrade your 360 should your box be one of those with the incompatible DVD drive in it. If you are having difficulties with a game that is booting up but having other issues, you should still complain but don't expect a replacement if you aren't still under warranty.

Well I received an Elite back from Microsoft today. It looks brand new with not a scratch on it. The MAC address is different than the one I sent in but the serial number is the same. I wonder if this is the same console I sent in or a different one.
