This game makes Daikatana look like a masterpiece. I knew the game was going to be a dud, and that only rabid fanboys of Duke would keep it from being one of the worst failures in gaming, but this is sad.
I don't know how anyone could enjoy this game, and if waited a decade and a half for it to be released, I'd be pissed off. |

Or did you download it "externally"? Had a early access code from picking up Borderlands during the Xmas sale.

I think I'll pass on this after reading the feedback here. Bandwidth is precious.

It wasn't terrible, but I definitely don't like it enough to want to buy it till it's at most $15. I liked the original duke when it was released, but for some reason this one just feels off. Maybe my expectations were too high given the time it was in development.

I must be crazy. Ive finished it like 5 times already. I love the atmosphere and detail.
I was thinking that something is broken with horizontal scanlines on first level (ala old arcade games) but then they showed that its a game inside a game which Duke is playing So then when I play as "real" duke there are no more scanlines.btw... on technical side. I am getting allright fps, but a litttle bit of fps deeps and stutters here and there. Adding 2x1gb of same ram I have would help? Or am I bottlenecked by 512mb on my 8800? I have plan to setup entirely new pc after summer, but 2x1gb of geil ultra ram is quite cheap and it might not be a stupid idea to boost this setup until then... but even a small waste of money is well.. waste of money ![]() Anyone else is Duke fan who is happy and cant wait till 10th/14th ? |

![]() The graphics was quite good but some seem unfinished based on modified Unreal 2.5 engine, if Gearbox took over 3DRealms project 5 years ago then the graphics will be on par with DOOM3. I laughed at some comments on many forums about DNF, stated the graphics sucked but I found the game FUN and interacted and one said the graphics is no where at same level as Witcher 2 graphics. ![]()

Just finished the demo.I thought it was pretty well done, the cycloid was fun to kill.Judging from the level of interactivity in the demo the full game should be a hoot as well. One thing about the demo though, was a lack of enemies.I'll play through again on hardest skill and see if there are more baddies. The truck is a fun addition as well. Finally DUKE IS BACK
