Black screen background with 2.6.36-1 and 256.53 after suspend

I recently upgraded the kernel to 2.6.36-1 and noticed that after resume from suspend the screen background comes back in black. When dropping windows around it gets filled with the original color. This is with driver 256.53 (I stay away from the newer ones as long as the xine-lib issue is not solved).

Just for completeness. This also happens when switching back from console (tty1) to gdm (vt7).

Ah, and one more thing. It only happens when compositing is on.

NVIDIA filed Bug ID: 816457 to track this issue GNOME3 gnome-shell..
