I was running a Mythbuntu machine fine with an EVGA nForce 730i motherboard, GeForce 9300 on-board video. Things went downhill after the machine unceremoniously lost power. X server would not boot, repeated messages about the display disappearing after about a second in the logs, etc.
I've tried to re-install Mythbuntu along with re-installing the Nvidia drivers. This has fared less than optimally as well. The driver install fails with the following message in /var/log/nvidia-installer.log: Quote:
Can anyone point the way towards a solution? |

No idea what caused this but it seems the solution was to add "vmalloc=256M" to the GRUB boot line.
Once this was added I was able to build and install the Nvidia driver without issue. |
