Would be nice if we get some new drivers but I'm not holding my breath. A 590GTX can play it fine, so they'll want us to upgrade.

Normally I would not do this but I wanted to test and see if I could get it to run at a solid 60 as much as possible with everything maxed. At native res of 1920x1080 no. However, since I use HDMI out to a receiver that has a fujuda scaling chip for video and dropping to 1600x900 (created a custom res based on 16:9 aspect) for this game is not obvious at all.

I see no added blur from running out of native because my display is still receiving native and the scaling being done by my receiver. Everything maxed with a custom auto exec that maxes out the in game aa. Smooth as butter on a single 580. Consider I am over clocking on my gpu which is at 945mhz so this 580 is screaming fast.

Its this or cap the framerate down to like 45 so that the drops are not as obvious. I prefer framerate over a few jaggies that I am not even seeing. 1600x900 isnt that big of a drop anyway. Also, this is on a 55" screen so it should be very obvious but it is not. As a matter of fact after creating the new res I tried it on other games that run fine maxed in 1080p and the only way I could tell a difference was msi afterburners on screen stat fonts are larger.

My dad has been playing this, he just installed patch 1.9 and hi-res textures (no dx11 since he's on a 4870) BUT; he's shown to me that if he tries to load a save/checkpoint after dying the game flat out crashes.

Can't find any possible fixes with google, lame.

Reinstall?, I haven't heard of anyone with the problem so I'd say it's related to that system. Also my try disabling things running in the background.

I did a quick Google, problem seem common to a cracked.exe...

My dad bought it on origin, and I doubt he would know how to crack a game.

Then maybe reinstall and re patch. A pain on Origin unless you backed up the installed cache.

Its not a pain, you can tell it where to store your installers and tell it not to delete them after install.

I know. Mine saves to the same drive as my Steam backups. Soon 2tb won't be enough.

Just got the patch and texture pack last week. Started playing on post-human warrior. It's visually stunning and great tactical fun. I have other games I should be playing but I'm back playing Crysis 2 again.

I really want to play this game with some kind of AA, will a 580 do it ? Ive been out of gaming for about 8 months so I'm kind of clueless right now.

Your 580 should be more than enough.

It's good to see you back in the 'game'.
