Default New Mouse and Keyboard

I need a new mouse and Keyboard.

I've looked a bit, and I really like this mouse and this keyboard:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826104178

http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-JQD-.../ref=pd_cp_e_1

What do you guys think? Anything different that I should consider?
I wanted to get the iluminated logitech keyboard, as I found it for $40 but they ran out of stock, and now I'm left wanting something good, or as good. I'd like for the keyboard to be illuminated.
That's the amount that I want to spend, right now I'm with a basic 6 year old PS/2 keyboard. And a wireless laptop mouse.

I'd like this for gaming, and for typing when school begins again.

Thanks again, I'd like to purchase this today, or as soon as possible.

you should go to a store and feel the mice all over. also put them down your pants and see how that feels. you will know if it is the right mouse for you. same with keyboard, but you gotta wear sweat pants or shorts, doesn't work with jeans.

albo, seriously i think input devices are pretty much mostly a matter of preference for 80% of the products, and then the more expensive choices have crazy features like an lcd screen or backlighting or something else. depends how much you wanna spend. i bought a microsoft wired keyboard 600 for 20 bucks couple weeks ago and it works great. i am using a G5 mouse that is probably more than 4 years old now.

I'm very ready to buy these. I just want to make sure, that these are the best things I can get for that price.

qft. This is only something that you can decide. After you find something you are interested in, read some reviews on it to see if the product is actually good or a flop.

This is so true, but to be honest, the older keyboards are still the best. matter of fact, I still use an old IBM model M keyboard

Those use an old AT connection though... does your rig have PS/2, or is there something to convert those to USB?

Razor has a really nice mechanical keyboard that comes illuminated and non illuminated. It's tailored for gamers so it's key travel is less than the Das Keyboard and Old IBM.

BTW Runningman, that is an epic keyboard. Once you go back to mechanical, you can't go back to membrane or DOC.

Most motherboards still have at least one dual purpose PS/2 port. If not I know people using an AT to PS/2 adapter, then a PS/2 to USB adapter.

It seems mullet has crapped on yet another thread.

But yes. If you like clicky keys than you want a mechanical keyboard.
