Atrix is nice, but aren't they still locked down pretty tight to where you can't modify the kernel?

Yup, You can have a customer Rom but their still pretty limited. I got mine through work but still rocking the Captivate on my personal line. Thinking about getting an Inspire or waiting for the Thrill or Infuse next month.

I thought about getting the Inspire, but I thought the Atrix was a bit faster.

Its beyond locked down, no custom kernels at all, it should be avoided like the plague for people who like to tinker with phones.
