Free Showtime for 12 months with Directv

Directv had a promotion for free Showtime for 12 months when you signed up as a new customer. Some people that were already Directv customers posted that they were also getting the deal if they asked. They followed these directions http://slickdeals.net/for.../showthread.php?t=3028445

So I decided to give it a try and called them up. I told the guy that I saw online where Showtime was free for 12 months. He checked on it then came back and asked if I knew any other details of the deal. I told him I didn't remember but I saw it online and it said free Showtime for 12 months. He said ok then told me to check the tv it should be on. I checked and I had all the Showtime HD channels, TMC HD (plus a couple TMC non HD channels) and the non HD Flix channel.
I confirmed with him that it was free for 12 months and didn't extend my contract. He then told me to have a great day and I did.

Good find hoggy, I didn't get 12 months free but I got 2 months free and $10.00 off my bill for 6 months. Thanks dewd.

You're not getting charged the $10 fee for HD are you Mullet? I signed up for auto bill pay last year and got the $10 fee taken off for 2 years. Others on DBS Talk were doing the same thing, that's where I heard about it. Not sure if you can do it now though. It was originally supposed to be only for new customers but then Dish stopped charging the fee around the same time so I guess Directv decided to let current customers in on the deal too.

DirecTV is always trying to shove Showtime down our throats all the time wiht 3 free months, but Showtime blows anyway. They don't even have good TV anymore like years back.

It can blow me all it wants since it's free for me for a year now.
