Hello, I would like to ask very kindly when updated 96.xx driver will be out.
I did the mistake of upgrading my laptop to Ubuntu 11.04 and I am stuck without 3D support, which I need, now. I will really appreciate any info. It would be nice to know if I should wait or purge the HDD and undergone all the work of installing and configuring older Ubuntu from scratch. Thank you in advance. |

Thanks to recent post by danix, I found working xorg 1.10 compatible legacy 96.xx driver. You can get it at ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/96.43.20/ (officially released version is 96.43.19). Works fine for me on Debian Wheezy with 2.6.39-2-686 kernel and X.Org X Server 1.10.2.902 (1.10.3 RC 2).
It would be a great idea to check ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/ both for your architecture (x86, x86_64) and driver you need. |
