Default Re: bug in nvidia driver for geforce GT520

I uploaded a short clip "GT520_green_artifacts.MOV" taken with my iPhone.

Problem is, i cannot say, when this happens. My test movie, which i uploaded earlier, was working 4 of 5 times. Between take 4 and 5 i watched some Live TV. So because of this i think its a buffer issue, but i dont know. Also tried different deinterlacing methods, but everything the same.

The video is taken from my HTPC. I run VDR as software to view Live TV and record movies with a digital TV card, output over GT520 with VDPAU. With my GT220 i never had this problems. Same happens when i try to play this TV channel via XBMC. So I and the other people with this issue think, that it must be a VDPAU issue. Without VDPAU it is working.

Has this problem something to do with the qvdpautest-problem? Why are there just 4 frames/s displayed?

H264 DECODING (1920x1080): 4 frames/s

I reproduced the green corruption and slowness when running the "H264 DECODING (1920x1080)" qvdpautest; I filed bug 916595 to track this issue. Thanks for the bug report!

Thank you!

Is this bug tracker public for viewing?

When do you think the issue could be fixed?

It isn't; the bug numbers are mostly provided for easy cross-referencing on our side. I'm sorry, but I can't comment on estimates.

Hi,

Regarding the GT 520 and 4 frames/s problem.

If you're running KDE, try disabling the Desktop Effects AND set the PowerMizer to Maximum Performance. That got rid of the green artifacts for me, and got me up to 122 frames/s instead of just 4.

Best regards

Hallo!

To let You know (for the statistics):

I just upgraded (yesterday) asus GT 210 to asus GT 520 and I started experiencing "green artifacts" problem as well for the following command:

mplayer -fs -vo vdpau -vc ffh264vdpau clip.mp4

problem occurs from time to time (ie. not always) in all following scenarios:

I just tried this command with various mp4 files:
interlaced/PAL
progressive/FullHD
LG 3D/FullHD

driver version:
270(ubuntu 11.04)
280(ubuntu 11.10)
290(ubuntu 11.10)

best regards,
Paul

Will there ever be a solution? Or is the card just crap? Already waiting for a fix since 3 months.
