I hate the keyboard, you have to hunt and peck on it. WTB swype.

In fact, speak of keyboard, does anybody else find it incredibly annoying that you have no arrows for when you want to insert the text cursor at a specific point, and the touch isn't granular enough because it's too small?

Or worse, in linear text, after you've typed so many characters, you can't arrow back to the beginning, you have to delete the whole thing and start over.

Let me know if anybody finds workarounds for these.

The hurricane will blow your fedex truck over, you will not get your HP touchpad.

I can finally connect to the app catalog, but every now and then it'll still say "cannot complete this operation, please try again". Probably due to inadequate hosting infrastructure.

Some impressions:

+ the cards app switcher is great
+ launch installed apps from app catalog
+ nice apps catalog newsletter (Pivot)
+ just type / make it so
+ keyboard has numeric keys on top row
+ homebrew community support, preware, and emulators (e.g. SNES, PC Engine)
+ free adblock/maxblock in preware
+ speakers actually produce stereo sound
+ 50 GB cloud storage (Box)
+ Robotek HD (free, get it nao)

+- Flash
+- overclock to 1.5 GHz

- UI is inconsistent/slow (even with minimal logging & other patches)
- taps do not register sometimes, requiring multiple attempts
- system boot and app launch times are slow
- no page scroll indicator
- pointer is not very accurate
- can't modify string in a text box easily (no arrows keys or magnifying lens)
- can't arrange apps in folders
- app catalog purchase dialogs "jumps" around for no reason
- app catalog "back" button location - should at be top left of screen to be consistent with browser
- erratic screen rotation behavior
- case material feels like Fisher-Price toy
- thicker, heavier, and worse battery life than other tablets
- color and text display quality worse than competition
- small app library & no Netflix, wtf.

Overall, it just felt a lot less polished than ipad1/2 both hardware and software-wise. If this came out at the same time as ipad 1, and sold for $250 - $300, it might have worked out. At $500+ when ipad2 is out, why even bother.

Great deal at blowout prices, though. Got the 32 GB for ~$120. If they continued to make, sell, and support Touchpads at this price level, HP could grab a huge market share from Apple.

How to watch Hulu from touchpad (they blocked it a few days ago just to be asshats)

http://pastebin.com/bsP8rrkD

EDIT: This method is easier if you don't have the palm SDK
